the man & his unicycle

My name's Tristan Bates. In May, I will graduate from the University of Maine at Farmington (hopefully!) with a degree in Secondary Education: Mathematics. I'm 22 years old and I've been unicycling since I was 16. Last year, my father was diagnosed with melanoma and I decided to try to do something to raise some money for melanoma research. One night I came up with the idea of doing a uni-thon.

My unicycle is named Black Betty Beast Bates. It has a 36-inch Nimbus Nightrider wheel on a Coker frame. The seat post is from Kris Holm and has a Pi handle bar attached to it with a V-brake.
